Vision and Mission

Founded in the Post-Second World War era, IFToMM’s mission has always been to bring the people from different nationalities and systems together for the exchange of science and the strengthening of international bonds in the general area of mechanism and machine science. Such strong weaving of peoples is more important than ever, and IFToMM is continuing this mission with a strongly growing network of its constituting member organizations. Support is given by promoting national and international conferences in the subject areas of IFToMM, discussing strategies and challenges in 14 open technical committees and 3 permanent commissions, bestowing of awards, sponsoring young conference participants, inspiring enthusiasm in students for mechanism and machine science through Student Olympiads, and most of all by fostering friendship and common work between regions far across the world for the tackling of tomorrows technical challenges.
