IMSD 2026

The International Conference on Multibody System Dynamics, IMSD, is organized every other Spring after the first IMSD, which was held in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 2010. The second IMSD took place at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in 2012, the third IMSD took place in Busan, Korea, in 2014, the fourth IMSD took place in Montréal, Canada, in 2016, the fifth IMSD took place in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2018, the sixth IMSD took place in New Dehli, India, in 2022, and the seventh IMSD took place in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, in 2024.
The purpose of the Conference is to serve as a meeting point for the international multibody community to provide an opportunity to exchange high-level, current information on the theory and applications of multibody systems.

The conference is the premier international gathering of the multibody dynamics community and attracts researchers from the active groups in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

IFToMM has a Technical Committee on multibody dynamics. Most of it members, and many other researchers that use to attend IFToMM conferences will also attend IMSD. In fact, during the IMSD conference one of the two annual meetings of the Technical Committee use to take place.
