MESROB 2021

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our privilege and great pleasure to invite you to the seventh edition of the International Workshop on New Trends in Medical and Service Robots (MESROB 2021), 07. – 9. June 2021. Due to the pandemic situation and the safety of our health, MESROB 2021 will be implemented virtually, organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Basel in collaboration with ETH Zurich. Together, the city of Basel and the canton Basel Countryside host the oldest University of Switzerland. Therefore, Basel has a long history related to medicine. However, this is the first time that we connect the field of robotics with the field of medicine in the Basel area. For this reason, we also collaborate with partners from industry, as well as hospitals.
The MESROB 2021 is an established conference of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM). MESROB 2021 will provide exclusive insights in research on the MIRACLE project (Minimal Invasive Robot-Assisted Computer-guided LaserosteotoME) at the University of Basel. Also, participants will be able to experience the spirit of the CYBATHLON, a competition and platform to drive forward research and development of assistance systems for everyday use. MESROB 2021 will also host a special session on “Standards and best practices in medical robotics” organized by IISART (the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology).
