Prof. Rasim Ismayil Alizade is an internationally recognized researcher in the field of robotics and mechanism and machine science. His main scientific contributions lie in the field of the theory of mechanisms. He developed novel methods for mobility computation, kinematic synthesis of function, path and motion, and generation of spatial linkages by using screw theory with polynomial approximations, including widely recognized books. He was a member of the IFToMM Technical Committee for Linkages and Mechanical Control, Chair of MO Azerbaijan AzC IFToMM (since 1995), Dean of the Mechanical Faculty (1979-1987) and Robototechnical faculty (1987-1990) and vice rector of the Azerbaijan Technical University (1991-1992) and published more than 120 scientific publications (including 8 patents). He received several dedicated awards in URSS and Azerbaijan.
