Recently, the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) initiated a new Cross Disciplinary Group, entitled IFToMM for Sustainable Development Goals (I4SDG). It focuses on securing the Future Environment – Air, Water and Energy.
To initiate common activities in these topics, I4SDG announces the workshop I4SDG 2021 addressing research proposals and results within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), as defined by the United Nations (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/).
The aims of the workshop is to present IFToMM as an active world organization that contributes to the United Nation 2030 Development Agenda. The organizers invite to present and highlight all research activities realized in the IFToMM community that can contribute to targets within the SDG. Furthermore, the awareness related to SDG in the IFToMM scientific community should be increased and networks of active researchers – explicitly including both technologists and humanists – need to be established.
Accepted full papers will be included in the conference proceedings, published by Springer and indexed by Scopus. A selection of presented papers will be invited for an extended version for a special issue in the International Journal of Mechanics and Control (www.jomac.it). Best Paper awards will be given for the categories of Research, Application, and Student Work.
I4SDG 2021 will be free of charge.
