Conferences revitalized – Seventh International Workshop on New Trends in Medical and Service Robots (MESROB 2021) restarted as virtual event
The seventh edition of the International Workshop on New Trends in Medical and Service Robots (MESROB 2021) was realized in a virtual manner on June 07 – 09 2021, organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Basel in collaboration with ETH Zurich. Together, the city of Basel and the canton Basel Countryside host this oldest University of Switzerland. Therefore, Basel has a long history related to medicine.
The MESROB 2021 is an established conference of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM). MESROB 2021 has provided exclusive insights in research on the MIRACLE project (Minimal Invasive Robot-Assisted Computer-guided LaserosteotoME) at the University of Basel. Also, participants were able to experience the spirit of the CYBATHLON, a competition and platform to drive forward research and development of assistance systems for everyday use. MESROB 2021 also hosted a special session on “Standards and best practices in medical robotics” organized by IISART (the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology).
The MESROB 2021 was embedded in the first edition of the Medical Robotics Week (MRW) 2021. Besides MESROB 2021, the fifteenth edition of the Interdisciplinary Symposium Automation in Medical Engineering (AUTOMED 2021), took place on June 08 – 09 2021 virtually. It was complemented by virtual Conference Workshops on June 10 – 11 2021.
The organizers invited also to join the virtual AUTOMED 2021 as well as the virtual Conference Workshops.
Altogether, a big success for the pushing forward of tomorrow’s robotics!
